About Us - Partners

Room to Read's partners are a huge factor in our success. Our key Corporate Partners, In-Kind Partners, and Promotional Partners provide us with generous financial and organizational support. They also raise awareness of our mission and help further our goal of providing the lifelong gift of education to millions of children in the developing world. For more information on how to become a Room to Read partner, please read about Becoming a Partner.

We also rely heavily on in-country partners to help us implement our programs. Working in collaboration with local NGOs helps us build upon the strengths of existing work and also ensures long-term sustainability of our programs. Please see the Programs & Countries section of our Frequent Questions for more details.

Featured Corporate Partner

Credit Suisse is our largest corporate sponsor, having provided Room to Read with over US$1.5 million in funding over the past four years, funding Room to Read's post-tsunami efforts in Sri Lanka and the Girls' Education Program in India and Vietnam. In 2008, Room to Read was awarded a grant under the Credit Suisse Global Education Initiative. This initiative aims to improve the education opportunities for 45,000 young people worldwide through locally relevant programs, focusing on improving three aspects of education: access; quality and relevance; sustainability and impact. The grant will be used by Room to Read to support schools and libraries across Asia and Africa as well as to provide strategic core support to our work in Africa.

Featured Promotional Partner

The Republic of Tea, the innovative company that sparked a revolution of specialty and premium teas, chose Room to Read as its nonprofit partner for their new tea line for children called Little Citizens' Herb Teas. The Fair Trade Certified teas, which are naturally caffeine-free and organic-Rooibos based, offers three flavors: Strawberry Vanilla Tea, Tangerine Tea and Apple Cherry Tea. For every tin of Little Citizens' Herb Teas sold, The Republic of Tea will contribute $1 to Room to Read in its goal to establish 100 libraries, including a minimum of two bi-lingual libraries for underprivileged children in South Africa. Look out for the teas and complementary accessory line in specialty and natural markets nationwide.
